Thanks for pointing that out. I’m not 100% sure I hit the right tone on this one. I was pretty frustrated because I was looking forward to previewing this meet and I had the psych sheet and I thought I would be able to do it with the small amount of energy I had left at the end of yesterday. As I mentioned in the post above, I might’ve just missed an opportunity to talk a little bit about the history of some of these great programs reflected inadvertently in that psych sheet.
I am not familiar with the user interface for HyTek, but my assumption is somebody just pressed the wrong button and loaded up historic times instead of season times. Somebody who is underpaid, normally does a great job, made one mistake, and caught me on a bad day.
I have not checked the LCM‘s from last night, but this is always an awesome meet and it’ll be fun to follow it.
Sorry that exhausted you because it was an interesting read. But it must have taken forever to research. So thanks. And I guess I’ve come to believe that the entry times in these invitationals just don’t matter. Denison and Emory won’t even swim their top 4 in prelims relays. Nothing counts until finals (except a DQ. Which would be Not Good.)
I agree with your analysis. The reasonable thing for me to do is sit back and let some of the events of the weekend unfold then dig back in.
As for that psych sheet, I honestly did not know what I was looking at - where were they even getting those seed times? Then I went for a walk and it occured to me that my attitude was all wrong. That psych sheet is an opportunity to take a random walk through the recent history of those teams. If I can get a breather I will return to it. I think there are more hidden treasures in there.
